  • Conservation charity WWF launch the 2012 Living Planet Report

    Author Linda

It sounds like scary news and you might be wondering how the earth will cope with a perpetually increasing demand for precious limited resources.

The Living Planet Report goes in to really accessible detail on how, if we continue to pressure the world's wildlife, we are sealing out care as a species too.

It was not an easy report to produce - with almost 3,000 species surveyed, it was revealed that there has been a shocking thirty per cent reduction in the health of them since 1970.

Donate to charity online - Help Save People, Animals and Planet

On the want2donate website we've tried to make it really simple for you to choose a charity to donate to.

Lots of people want to give to charity, and everyone has something which resonates more with them from animals, to people, to the environment.

But even within all these different areas of charity work many charities operate.

So, which charity do you choose? Who to donate online to?

We've tried to break out some of the biggest UK charities that you can donate to into sections that can help you read a little about each one before you make up your mind - whether you want to:

We also have our ethical directory where we list all sorts of green and ethical things like green insurance, ethical gifts, sustainable tourism, protecting our heritage and culture and also organic products.

Oh, don't forget to check out our guide to giving too. Please let us know any ideas for how we can improve things on our website here.

Guide to giving:

If you want to learn more about charities in general and all the different ways you can support them, visit our guide to giving section.

We're adding more pages to this section so check back soon, or recommend something you'd like us to cover.

In the meantime, we hope you like what we've put together.

Charity FAQs

Tax exempt status of registered charities and online security

All of the charities listed on this website are registered with the Charity Commission in the United Kingdom. Like any business, charities have to submit Tax Returns to HM Revenue and Customs, but all donations are declared and the charities do not have to pay tax on them. This means all your donation to charity will help to further their vision and goals.

Registered charity numbers

Each charity's registered number can be seen prominently displayed on the bottom of their respective pages on this site and underneath their logos.
