News from charity the Art Fund is of the planned display of a Anglo-Saxon treasure hoard in Birmingham from Saturday the 13th of March 2010.

The wonderful items that will be on display are part of an enormous fundraising campaign from the charity who helps secure the future of countless precious works of art and items of historical interest.

The campaign is intended to help keep the Staffordshire Hoard in their home, the West Midlands.

A total of 59 items from the Staffordshire Hoard which contains helmet fragments decorated with warriors and animals and a gold cross, which has become crumpled over time. A stud made from red garnet is also part of this wonderful display.

In addition, another 59 items will also be on display at 'The Pottery Museum and Art Gallery in Stock-on-Trent'. Some of these items sound really intriguing too - there will be a 'delicate filigree horse's head', a strip of gold with a inscription from the Bible and another crumpled gold item - this time ornate bird and flesh heads.

Both displays will run between Saturday the 13th of March until Sunday the 18th of April.
