It is great news to hear that a groundbreaking project led by children's charity, Barnardo's, has been declared an out and out success.

The UK Government also supported the scheme which had as its focus stopping the abuse of substances by younger people.

Keighley Choices teamed up with twenty five young people who were already affected by substance misuse and their families.

This week we start the first of our special blog posts from someone working in the UK charity sector. We asked them a bunch of questions about what life is really like.

We hope this will help the general public learn more about how things work in the sector as well as hopefully providing some tips for other digital people in the sector.

We will be asking other people who work in various roles questions over the coming months so check back for more too.

Who are you?

I'm working in the digital team in a small sized UK charity. I've previously worked in two other charities as well as on numerous digital projects for a host of other UK charities and non profit organisations.

What myths do you think people have about charities?

I think a lot of people are concerned that charities can waste donors money. I think they can also become confused when there are so many charities that appear to work for the same or very similar causes and think they are all duplicating work / spending money competing for the same market share.

Tax exempt status of registered charities and online security

All of the charities listed on this website are registered with the Charity Commission in the United Kingdom. Like any business, charities have to submit Tax Returns to HM Revenue and Customs, but all donations are declared and the charities do not have to pay tax on them. This means all your donation to charity will help to further their vision and goals.

Registered charity numbers

Each charity's registered number can be seen prominently displayed on the bottom of their respective pages on this site and underneath their logos.

Please get in touch if you would like to ask us a question.

Is my donation to charity secure?

Are my details safe?

Want2Donate do not know, nor hold any information about you. Any donation you make is between you and the charity you choose. Learn more in our Privacy Policy.
