A new report from poverty charity Oxfam International says that unfavourable climate change in Ethiopia will have dramatic consequences in increased poverty and lack and insecurity of vital resources like water and food.

In Ethiopia 85 percent of the population depends on agriculture – but agriculture has been severely affected by the weather and climate for a prolonged period of abnormally low rainfall, leading to a massive shortage of water.

Animal Welfare Charity Compassion in World Farming investigators found that every year horses are transported in trucks with only bread for food.

They are given no water and no rest for more than 24 hour journeys.

Just imagine that over 50,000 horses every year are transported from Eastern Europe to Italy in this cruel way.

The way the horses are pushed and pulled on and off off trucks on their long journeys causes their health to deteriorate quickly.
