It's nearly time for Mother's Day 2014 here in the UK (and the other countries that celebrate it on the same day).

Because of this we thought we'd write a blog about the history of Mother's Day, where it came from and how it is celebrated here and around the world.

What is Mother's Day?

It is a celebration of mothers and motherhood and the impact mothers have on all our lives as they love and nurture their children in preparation for adulthood.

This Saturday, the 22 March 2014, is World Water Day, and Concern Worldwide are joining in the celebrations, promoting improved access to water for the world’s poorest people.

Safe, clean water is essential for drinking, cooking and washing with. It reduces the risk of disease and helps families grow enough food and care for their livestock. All this means children can be free to learn, parents can be free to earn a living, and whole communities’ lives can be transformed.
